Projects

Work That Speaks for Itself.

Each case study sets out the access restriction, the equipment used and the scope completed. The St Albans and Oak Park jobs below are real completed projects; the remaining records are structural placeholders until more details and photographs are supplied.

Residential Drainage & Service Trenching Beside a Period Home

Residential — engaged by a plumbing contractor (client name to be confirmed by Lucas)

Initial challenge
Drainage and service lines had to be run through an established lawn and garden beside a period home, working in wet conditions without damaging the building line, paving or mature trees.
Access restrictions
The machine worked from the lawn between the house and the boundary, tracking around an established tree and keeping clear of paving, planters and window frames.
Equipment used
1.7T Caterpillar excavator (301.7) with digging and trench buckets, quick hitch
Scope completed
Trench line set out and excavated to grade beside the house, spoil stockpiled on site, trenching carried carefully around tree roots, then the ground backfilled and raked back flat once the plumbing was laid. Depths and pipe sizes to be confirmed by Lucas.

On site — trenching along the boundary on ground protection mats
  1. Compact excavator working in a very narrow side path between the house wall and the boundary fence
Stage 1 — Access down a path barely wider than the machine
  2. Excavator working the trench line hard against the boundary fence and around the base of a large tree
Stage 2 — Trench worked in hard against the fence line
  3. Long drainage trench excavated along a boundary fence with pipe laid out beside new concrete pads
Stage 3 — Trench run out along the boundary fence
  4. Stormwater pipe laid in the trench past a large established tree, with ground protection mats over the finished paving
Stage 3 — Pipe laid past the tree, surfaces protected

Residential Drainage & Service Trenching Through a Narrow Side Access

Residential — engaged by a plumbing contractor (client name to be confirmed by Lucas)

Initial challenge
Stormwater and drainage lines had to be run down the side of the house and along the boundary of a yard under construction, with a large established tree and its root plate directly on the trench line.
Access restrictions
The side path was barely wider than the machine itself, with the house wall on one side and the boundary fence on the other. Ground protection mats were laid over finished surfaces so the excavator could track across without marking them.
Equipment used
1.7T Caterpillar excavator (301.7) with trench buckets, quick hitch, ground protection mats
Scope completed
Trench excavated down the narrow side path and along the boundary fence, stormwater pipe laid and connected past the established tree, and the run continued through to the new paved area. Pipe sizes and connection details to be confirmed by Lucas.

Concrete Removal, Site Levelling and Concrete Sleeper Retaining

Residential

Initial challenge
The rear yard was covered in old concrete and paving over uneven ground, leaving no usable level space and no clean line along the boundary fences.
Access restrictions
Work was staged from the driveway and under the carport, with the tipper loaded on the hardstand beside the house and machines tracking through to the rear yard.
Equipment used
1.7T Caterpillar excavator, ASV RT-30 Posi-Track loader, Hino 1124 tipper truck for cartage
Scope completed
Old concrete and paving broken out and carted off site, the yard stripped and levelled, then galvanised posts set in concrete footings and concrete sleeper retaining walls built along two boundaries, waterproof membrane installed behind the wall and the garden bed backfilled.

Sleeper Wall Replaced with Concrete Sleeper Retaining

Residential

Initial challenge
Old timber sleeper walls around the house had aged out and the ground behind them had slumped, leaving uneven, unusable yard on a sloping block.
Access restrictions
Works ran along a narrow side path between the house and the boundary fence, so material had to be moved in and out through restricted space.
Equipment used
1.7T Caterpillar excavator, digging and mud buckets, auger drive for post holes
Scope completed
Old walls removed, batters cut back, galvanised posts set and concrete sleeper walls built along the side and front, then the yard graded back to a clean, even surface ready for landscaping.
