Service
Auger Drilling
Clean, consistent holes at the right diameter and depth. Augering with a machine is faster than hand digging and far more accurate through clay and compacted ground.

Suitable project types
- Fencing and gate posts
- Decking and pergola footings
- Retaining-wall posts
- Structural pier holes
Typical applications
- 300mm and 450mm diameter holes
- Repeated hole sets to a consistent depth
- Drilling through clay and compacted material
- Post holes in restricted-access yards
Equipment used
- Auger drive
- 300mm auger
- 450mm auger
- 1.7T Caterpillar excavator
What to prepare
- Set out or mark hole positions if they are fixed
- Confirm required diameter and depth
- Check for underground services along the line
- Note overhead obstructions
Access considerations
Auger work needs clear overhead space above each hole. Overhead wires, eaves and low branches can limit where the drive can be positioned.
